PPF Wholesale Quote Comparison: A Buyer Worksheet
A PPF wholesale quote comparison should start after suppliers have answered the same buying brief. The next step is to make their offers comparable. Two prices per roll can describe different lengths, film constructions, packaging scopes and preparation schedules. This worksheet approach helps distributors identify those differences before choosing a sample or placing an order.
This guide focuses on evaluating received quotations, rather than writing the initial request. For product selection, start with the PPF collection. For the broader factors behind factory pricing, use the China PPF price guide. Neither a supplier quote nor this worksheet is a retail installed-car price.
1. Give Each Offer a Comparable Reference
Create one row for each quoted model, not just each supplier. Record the quotation date, currency, validity date, model code, finish, roll dimensions, quantity and packaging. Keep the original quotation beside the worksheet so every entry remains traceable. A verbal promise should be marked pending until the supplier confirms it in writing.
Separate sample offers, standard wholesale orders and private-label projects. A one-roll trial price should not compete directly with a price based on recurring bulk purchases. Likewise, a forecast is not an order commitment. Ask whether a discount depends on the first shipment, an annual volume or a later reorder.
2. Normalize Roll Area Without Hiding Differences
Use nominal area as a first calculation
Nominal roll area equals width multiplied by length. A 1.52 m by 15 m roll contains 22.8 square metres; a 1.52 m by 30 m roll contains 45.6 square metres. Divide the quoted film-only roll price by this area to obtain a comparable nominal price per square metre. Use the same currency and quotation date assumptions.
For a purely illustrative calculation, a 228-unit price for the shorter roll equals 10 currency units per square metre. A 410.40-unit price for the longer roll equals 9 units. These are arithmetic examples, not ELOV prices or market benchmarks. They reveal a unit-price difference but do not establish which film is the better purchase.
Keep nominal area separate from usable yield
Do not convert nominal area directly into a promised number of vehicles. Panel dimensions, cutting layout, edge allowances and installation rework affect usable yield. Record the same vehicle mix and cutting assumptions for every trial. Keep installation labour and waste estimates separate from the supplier’s film price.
3. Match the Finished-Film Specification
Compare the exact finished model: material identification, installed thickness, included layers, surface finish, coating, adhesive and written warranty. A thickness figure including a removable liner cannot be compared directly with installed-film thickness. Ask the supplier to label the measurement scope instead of assuming that a larger number means more protection.
Use the clear PPF specifications to shortlist clear models and the color PPF specifications for color projects. Verify each selected product’s current data. A brand name for a raw material is not a substitute for a finished-film report or an installation trial.

4. Build an Included, Excluded and Pending List
For each offer, assign every charge one of three statuses: included, excluded or awaiting confirmation. Blank cells are not zero-cost items. Ask for separate amounts where useful, and make sure an included charge is not added again in your comparison.
- Film price and the precise quantity covered.
- Standard packaging or custom boxes, inner bags and backing logos.
- One-time artwork, printing setup or sample approval charges, if applicable.
- Freight, insurance and destination handling, as quoted.
- Taxes, duties or other destination charges requiring separate confirmation.
- Sample shipping and any stated credit against a later order.
Record the agreed shipping term and named destination exactly as quoted. Ask the supplier and your freight provider to clarify responsibilities before payment. Do not treat a transport estimate as a fixed delivered price, or assume that taxes are included because freight appears on the offer.
5. Compare MOQ and Preparation on Equal Terms
ELOV samples start at one roll. Standard clear and matte PPF orders start at 20 rolls; color PPF starts at 10 rolls. OEM packaging and private-label custom orders start at 100 rolls. Mixed models are supported, but confirm the proposed selection and availability. Review the sample and MOQ guidance before comparing order totals.
Preparation estimates from payment are 1-2 working days for samples, 2-3 for stock orders, approximately 7 for regular production, approximately 10 for OEM packaging and approximately 15-20 for custom products. Confirm stock, approved artwork and the order-specific schedule. Freight transit is additional. Record preparation and transport in separate worksheet fields.
For a branded offer, compare the actual OEM packaging scope, not simply the word “OEM.” Check which artwork version is approved, which models use it, and whether the supplier will confirm the same packaging specification on repeat orders.
6. Use a Decision Record, Not a Price-Only Ranking
Give each model an evidence status before ranking price: specification confirmed, installation sample reviewed, packaging approved and commercial questions resolved. Keep unresolved items visible. If one supplier provides more complete evidence, do not assign an invented monetary value to that advantage; describe the operational difference and decide what must be verified.
A compact decision record can use these fields: supplier and model; quotation reference; nominal area; film-only unit price; included extras; additional charges; MOQ; preparation estimate; sample outcome; warranty document; open questions; decision owner. Add a review date so a later buyer does not mistake an expired comparison for an approved reorder.
Choose a sample candidate when the terms are clear enough to test, then choose a bulk supplier after reviewing the sample and final order details. Preserve the approved model and packaging references with the purchase record. A cheaper offer with unanswered questions remains an incomplete offer, not an automatic saving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is price per square metre enough to compare PPF?
No. It normalizes nominal roll dimensions, but you must also compare model specification, usable yield, packaging, order quantity, additional charges and sample results.
Does a one-roll sample mean a one-roll wholesale MOQ?
No. Sample quantities and standard wholesale minimums are different. ELOV’s standard minimums are 20 rolls for clear or matte PPF and 10 for color PPF; OEM packaging and custom orders start at 100 rolls.
Should freight be added to every quotation?
Only if it is excluded. Record what each offer already includes to avoid double counting, and confirm the destination and validity of any separate transport estimate.
Can a repeat order use the original comparison?
Use it as a reference, then reconfirm price validity, model specification, stock, packaging and schedule. Record changes before approving the reorder.
Request a Comparable ELOV Offer
Send your model or color, roll size, quantity, packaging scope and destination through the ELOV inquiry page. Ask for the current specification, applicable written warranty, preparation estimate and included charges. That gives your team a clear basis for comparing offers without confusing film cost with installation price.
